PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Development (Medac) plans to coordinate the expiration of the moratorium for all funding bodies under the ministry.
His minister Tan Sri Noh Omar (Photo) said that currently the moratorium expiration period is different for each funding body, subject to their respective terms and conditions.
“We don’t want the Bank Rakyat moratorium to end this month, Tekun Nasional’s another month. We want them to be streamlined, ”said Noh, who will discuss the issue with Medac general secretary Datuk Suriani Ahmad.
Noh said this at a press conference after delivering the National People’s Well-Being and Economic Recovery Package (Pemulih) Phase 2 SME Bank Phase 2 acceptance letter here , today.
Asked about extending the moratorium currently granted until the end of this year, Noh said Medac was also considering extending it further.
Noh asked the SME Bank to facilitate the appeal of the reimbursement process for entrepreneurs to enable them to revive their affected businesses.
“Help them, because any legal action will be a burden on these entrepreneurs. We hope that SME Bank can think about it. We have to give them space to breathe again, ”he said.
Earlier in his speech at the event, Noh said that Medac offered targeted assistance from SRP Pemulih to 4,142 entrepreneurs with funding of RM 5.8 billion from July to December 2021.
Today, he said that 10 entrepreneurs in the hospitality, public and commercial transport sectors, as well as amusement park operators, have received letters of participation from SRP Pemulih Phase 2 involving an allocation of 349, 6 million RM. -Bernama
