Lexicon Institute of Hotel Management to Offer Three-Year Tourism and Hospitality Program with International Links to Give Students Global Exposure
The institute has launched the admission process for its first batch, which will begin in June 2022
The Lexicon Group of Institutes will soon open the Lexicon Institute of Hotel Management in Pune, Maharashtra, a hotel management college that will be led by distinguished leaders and veterans of the hospitality industry.
The main objective of the institute will be to usher in a new era for hospitality education in India.
Located in the Wagholi district of Pune, the institute will offer a three-year program in tourism and hospitality with international links, providing students with global exposure.
The Lexicon Institute of Hotel Management grew out of hoteliers who formed the board of directors, coming together to create a college that will be led by industry and for industry. The board of directors includes Nasir Shaikh, a hotelier with more than two decades in the hospitality business, and the former Managing Director of Marriott International and Chairman of the Marriott India Business Council, Gurmeet Singh (Chief Mentor – Lexicon IHM and former Director Senior Human Resources Officer), an industry veteran, and Anup Seth (Director, Investments and Corporate Relations), with over 15 years of solid experience in areas such as Taj Hotels, Hyatt and Marriott International
Gladwin Rego, an academician with more than two decades of experience, is the director of the institute. Rego is also a trained educator at the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) and has, over the years, nurtured young and eager minds to become the leaders they are today.
The institute strives to make the curriculum industry relevant and the industry necessary, which means that the focus is on creating “Day Zero Professionals”. Throughout the program, students will achieve over 49 certifications, which will be designed with assistance from the advisory board which includes Neeraj Govil – senior vice president at Marriott International; Kush Kapoor – CEO, Roseate Hotels and Resorts; Bibhor Srivastava – Managing Director, ITP Media India, Ranju Alex – Vice President Market, West India, Marriott International, Amit Midha – Vice President – Operations, India, DLF, Vineet Mishra – Managing Director, Resort, Pullman and Novotel – Aerocity, Accor to name a few.
Through the three-year program, students can accumulate credits according to their knowledge and skills through which they have the opportunity to accumulate credits to continue their studies with an international partner.
