itc hotels: ITC Hotels and CII join forces for international hotel training geared towards employment

ITC Hotels and the industrial body CII announced on Monday a partnership for the development of skills in the Indian hotel sector in collaboration with a Swiss training partner. An 18-month vocational education and training (VET) vocational diploma program by the educational group of the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) in Switzerland will be delivered at four ITC hotels across the country.

The current association will accommodate 200 students who have completed upper secondary with 50 percent marks in English, but the pocket pinch for a student will be Rs 3 lakh (including tax, it will be around Rs 3.54 lakh) . The training will take place in three parts: “Culinary”, “Food and beverage service” and “Rooms”.

Hotels, VP (Talent Management) Nilesh Mitra said, “We have an excellent faculty for this program. Our faculty in each ITC hotel have been trained and certified by EHL and CII. … The program will allow us to strengthen our talent pool while continuing to expand our presence in the country. We plan to add more hotels to this program in 2022. ”

“The current gap between demand and supply of skilled labor in the Indian hospitality industry is around 80%. Hospitality employers find the workforce to be supplied below the industry’s high expectations. There is a definite need in India for internationally recognized vocational training. which can create a pool of talented hospitality professionals, ”said Roy Choudhury.
