Hospitality veteran Cyrus Madan to strengthen Atmosphere Hotels & Resort’s business development team and help develop the company’s portfolio in the region
Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts (AH&R) has appointed Cyrus Madan as Senior Vice President – Business Development India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Nepal. The newly created role ensures dedicated leadership and a focus on the Indian subcontinent as AH&R prepares for the next chapter of international growth.
With more than 25 years of experience in the hotel industry, Madan brings extensive expertise in the field of work with brands, acquisitions (land and hotels), hotel pre-openings and hotel operationalization. He will be based in India and will report to Souvagya Mohapatra, the company’s managing director for India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan.
He comes to AH&R from Lemon Tree Hotels where he was Senior Vice President of Business Development and COO of Carnation Hotels.

Madan spent 18 years with Lemon Tree Hotels. He played a key role in the growth of the company’s Asset Light Model. As COO of Carnation Hotels (portfolio of hotels managed by Lemon Tree), he took the brand internationally by negotiating and signing management contracts in Dubai, Nepal and Bhutan.
Over the past 9 years, Cyrus Madan has individually sourced and contracted over 60 hotel projects. He is well versed in management contract negotiations, owner relationship management, asset management and managed hotel operations. In addition to his experience in the field of management contracts, Cyrus has a proven track record in successfully managing acquisitions. During his tenure at Lemon Tree, he also pre-opened several hotel projects (20+) in India and one in Dubai.
Madan started his professional journey with the Taj Group of Hotels as a management intern in 1995. He holds a bachelor’s degree in hotel management from the University of Mangalore (Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration).
